The Forest Lake Junior Rugby League Football Club was started in the latter half of 1996; with the season of 1997 being our first year of fixtures. The club started off in Forest Lake, but due to the lack of facilities had to move to our current location at the Warren Ritchie Sports Complex. The club was started by a couple of parents who were tired of the politics of a bigger club, and after a lot of fundraising, much hard work and many sleepless nights a club was born. We are now a small size club, and doing our best to field a team in every age group this year. Many of our players are new to this sport and come from various backgrounds and cultures. We have a small clubhouse with one International field and one mod size field. For a small club, some of our previous achievements speak for themselves:
The club is well known for it's mascot "Swooper" (pictured), who is a big hit with the kids. |
